How to get AWS Solutions Architect Associate Cert in 12 days | What changed in 2020?

I took the aws solutions architect exam exactly 12 days after I passed the aws developer associate exam
In this video I am going to show you how you can achieve this in likely a quicker speed than me.
The AWS solutions architect exam is usually the first AWS exam that people take and is a good foot into the door for many tech jobs because suprise surprise many companies are using AWS as their platform of choice for the cloud
⦁ With this certification you will likely get a bigger salary and have an easier time getting a new job
⦁ Or you could a foot in the door since this certification shows social proof that you can sit down for a bit and study
To show you my social proof, I want to show you the proof that I got the certification in such a short amount of time.
⦁ My coworker and I competed to see who could get it first and that is what helped me take the test so quickly after wanting to get the certification
⦁ It took him 6 months because he didn't have the motivation, so that just shows you if you are lacking motivation to get up and take the exam, maybe challenge a friend to see who can get it done first
To first get the certification you have to know where the questions are coming from
⦁ The questions are trying to see if you can design and deploy well-architected solutions on AWS
⦁ That seems simple enough but you have to understand what a well-architected solution means to AWS.
AWS has a white paper that is 85 pages explaining to you what a well architected framework is - https://d1.awsstatic.com/whitepapers/architecture/AWS_Well-Architected_Framework.pdf
⦁ Reading that would be boring so I am going to summarize it in one minute:
⦁ TO attain operational excellence, a key AWS service is AWS cloud formation which lets you create templates that you can use to consistently provision whatever resources that you want for your application
⦁ to attain the security pillar you need to use the key AWS service IAM to control user and programmatic access
⦁ you can use cloudtrail to record API calls and VPC to launch resources into a virtual network
⦁ for reliability you can use AWS shield to safe guard against DDOS attacks
⦁ for performance the key service is cloudwatch which you can use to see how your services are holding up
⦁ for cost optimization, you can use the cost explorer to see how much services are costing you
AWS also has 6 FAQs that covers some of the key services in this exam:
⦁ EC2: https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/faqs/
⦁ S3: https://aws.amazon.com/s3/faqs/
⦁ VPC: https://aws.amazon.com/vpc/faqs/
⦁ Route 53: https://aws.amazon.com/route53/faqs/
⦁ rds: https://aws.amazon.com/rds/faqs/
⦁ sqs: https://aws.amazon.com/sqs/faqs/
This AWS solutions architect associate exam is new compared to last year when I took it.
⦁ the new exam used to have 5 domains, but now it only has 4
⦁ It got rid of the domain of defining operationally excellent architectures
⦁ They likely did this since they wanted to take away some of the reliance on operations since the Sysops administrator exam will cover more of that and it is likely that many people did not take that one
⦁ BTW I will make a video on how to get that certification in the coming weeks so if you want to become the AWS master make sure to subscribe to see it
⦁ another main difference between the old and new is that they used to reccomend which white papers to read but they don't do that anymore
⦁ the question style and score needed to pass are the same with a score of 72% needed to pass
