A-Rod Reflects on Biogenesis and What It Took to Move Forward

“I wish I would have made better decisions.”

That’s not something anybody thought Alex Rodriguez would say, but he has turned an incredible corner. Nearly two years ago, after A-Rod had served his suspension, he and I had a conversation—on Halloween night in fact when I was working late in the office—that completely blew me away. Here was a guy that was remorseful, regretful, motivated and ready to redeem himself as best he could.

From last year through now, A-Rod has said all the right things. His time on the field in 2015 nearly resulted in an All-Star appearance. And, while this year he wasn’t as effective in pinstripes as both he and the team wanted, he has remained humble and committed to the message that he will always have to be righting his wrongs.

It has been incredible to see A-Rod’s growth and maturity over the last two years since he and I first spoke and I am happy to call him a friend. Like he says in the video below from Steiner Sports’ Q&A last year, we "don’t have to be defined by all our mistakes. How you come back matters, too."

What do you think? COMMENT whether or not we should forgive Alex. He did the crime and he did the time. He paid a pretty serious price that certainly would have taken him to a much higher place as far as his legacy goes. Is it time to forgive?
