Playing Rust succesfully solo always requires a little bit of luck. Within a few minutes of joining the server I found myself sandwhiched in between two snipers trading shots in an effort to claim a post-battle valley full of second tier loot. Typically a scenario best avoided turned out to be the exact opportunity that I needed.

I managed to secure an inventory full of snowballing weapons and armour - propelling my progression to end game loot much faster than I had expected.

This is the first in a two part series that I would declare one of my best solo wipes to date. I hope you enjoy it!

Rust is at the apex of the survival genre. From the humble hunting bow to the almighty assault rifle, the roleplayer's slum shack to the clan's flawless fortress.

In Rust the objective is to survive, but it's up to you what you want to risk in order to thrive. Whether that means fighting outnumbered or putting it all on the line in an explosive heist. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, and that's why we love this game.
