Did you know that there are five stages of cancer? They are stage 0 (carcinoma in situ), stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, and stage 4.

Carcino in situ is also called pre-invasive or non-invasive cancer and refers to a group of abnormal cells that exist only on the first layer of cells. They may spread and develop into cancer.

The chances of successfully treating cancer decreases with the progression of stages. While stage 1 cancer that occurs in a localized area has 90% success, stage 4 or metastatic cancer has less than 10% success rate.
