What's going on Initiate, Bird here and in this video we are going just exactly how Yamato and Rebellion were created in the Devil May Cry universe!

Rebellion Yamato and Force Edge were all created by and once belonged to Dante and Vergil's father, Sparda, who split his immense power into these weapons and gave them to his twin sons as keepsakes and the keys to unlocking their true power.

Rebellion is Dante's trademark dark-forged greatsword. It is introduced in Devil May Cry 2 and appears throughout the series. It is one of the three legendary swords created alongside the Sparda and Yamato when the Dark Knight Sparda split his power into three pieces, and was named by him to embody "retaliation". To complement the Yamato, which can separate man from devil, the Rebellion can instead unite the two forces.
Rebellion was eventually given to Dante as a keepsake from his father, and it was served as a catalyst that awakened his Devil Trigger power. The blade's power originally laid dormant, but through contact with Dante's blood, it was awakened, culminating in him using its intrinsic function to fully unite his human and demon halves, reforging the blade into the Devil Sword Dante.

The Yamato is Vergil's trademark dark-forged katana. It is introduced in Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 3, Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5. It is one of the three legendary swords that was once wielded by his father Sparda, who originally created it alongside the Sparda and Rebellion when the Dark Knight split his power into three pieces, and was named by him to embody a "god of death". It was later left to Vergil as a keepsake.
While the Rebellion can unify the human and demon halves of an individual, the Yamato can instead separate the two forces.
