Final Honors 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Sergeant Chad Elliott Jenson – beloved son, brother, husband, stepfather, and United States Marine.

Sgt Chad Jenson was one of the Heroes that tragically perished in the crash of a KC-130 transport plane in rural Mississippi on July 10, 2017. The crash resulted in the deaths of all on board, 15 Marines and one Navy Corpsman. The flight had originated from MCAS Cherry Point, NC.

Chad grew up in Redondo Beach, where his family still resides. He attended Mira Costa High School and helped lead the school's football team to a championship in 2009. Chad was deeply admired for his selflessness and unwavering optimism by teammates, coaches, and teachers alike.

Chad had a deep desire to serve his country and he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in September 2010 after graduating from high school. In 2013, Chad joined the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command and by 2014, he attained the rank of Sergeant – a remarkable accomplishment for any enlisted member of the military. He proudly served with the elite 2d Raider Battalion, Special Operations Command which was based at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Chad was a critical skills operator and was awaiting his first deployment.

Throughout his tenure, Chad once again gained the admiration of his teammates and friends by perfecting his own skills and consistently improving his mind and body. He maintained a high standard of integrity which he shared with those around him. Chad was a fitness enthusiast, to say the least, and a regular at the New River HITT Center. You could say it was his second home.

His awards include a U.S. Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, A Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Meritorious Unit commendation, two certificates of commendation, three letters of appreciation and two meritorious masts. Chad was the embodiment of the U.S. Marine Corp' values: honor, courage, and commitment.

Chad is survived by his parents, Robert and Susan Jenson, his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Courtney Jenson, his wife, Jessica, and stepson, Jackson.

Chad lived his life as a patriotic, selfless and caring man who served his community and his nation.
