Marble Machine No. 6 - The Caterpillar

I will add some photos of things I am working on at the moment and can give you quick progress updates.

This is my 6th marble machine.
I noticed that the cams were a bit out of alignment after filming this. Rest assured that they are now lined up so the caterpillar moves more gracefully.

Originally it was just meant to be a caterpillar driven by cams. The caterpillar and cam pieces are all from my other ocean sculpture. The ocean sculpture didn't move smooth enough with such thin pieces so I re-cut everything again thicker and was just waiting for the day when I could use these pieces again.

The same thing is happening on both sides of the caterpillar. A scotch yoke works as a double elevator to take the marbles to the top. I cut the dark piece of wood in a few different steps so the marbles will randomly come out of the 3 different holes. Sometimes they come out of only 1 or 2 holes, and if you are lucky they come out of all 3!
