FDR's Unfinished Portrait Reframed at the Little White House

The Unfinished Portrait is one of the most iconic portraits of a world leader ever painted. It is equally one of the most tragic, as President Franklin D. Roosevelt died while sitting for the painting on April 12, 1945.
In 2021, through the generosity of antiques dealer and historical consultant David Frohman, Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites was able to have the portrait removed from its mount, its condition assessed, and reframed using the most up-to-date archival processes. You can view the portrait along with the three studies done by Madame Shoumatoff in preparation of her work on the Unfinished Portrait at the Little White House State Historic Site in Warm Springs, Georgia.
