SIHH2019: 25 Years of German Fine Watchmaking: The First and Only 1 / by A. Lange & Söhne

In 1990 Walter Lange, grandson of German watchmaker Ferdinand Adolph Lange, who had established his own manufacture in 1845, relaunched the brand that had nearly vanished after World War II. Hand-crafting only a few thousand wristwatches per year, A. Lange & Söhne is today considered one of the world’s finest brands. In this discussion moderated by Piers Gibbon the company’s CEO Wilhelm Schmid, its Director of Product Development Anthonie de Haas and watchmaker Robert Hoffmann celebrate the 25th anniversary of the LANGE 1 and the 10th anniversary of the ZEITWERK, two emblematic timepieces.
