Will Machines Ever Make Better Games Than Us?

Artificial intelligence will open up a lot of new possibilities in video games.

So, what will modern AI do to the games industry?

Neural networks have pretty much been around since the 1950. Why is it that they're only now starting to take off? How does this technology work and how do we know the AI revolution is actually coming?

Can machine learning algorithms be used to create entire games? Can they create art? Will machines ever become smarter than humans? How intelligent will they be ten years from now and when will the singularity occur?

In this video I try to answer as many of these questions as possible. I give a short introduction into how neural networks work and how they learn from data.

Then I try to make an educated guess about the future of AI in the games industry. What is already possible? Which game dev opportunities will modern AI open up in the future? And what if machine learning keeps getting way way smarter? What would that mean for game developers like us? Would we be out of a job? How realistic is that?
