Jewish Pastrami and Hummus at "Dickman's Deli". St Petersburg, Russia

This morning for breakfast I've got a Jewish pastrami and hummus at "Dickman's Deli". It is located in Petrograd Side, the most bourgeois district of St Petersburg, Russia.

Pastrami considered as the main dish at "Dickman's Deli". It is a local product from New York City brought there by Jewish migrants from Bessarabia.

There is bread, sauce and a lot of meat in pastrami sandwich. However, under the external simplicity these sandwiches seem to have hides a complicated process of meat cooking. Beef brisket is salted in brine for 10-14 days with an addition of spices, then the meat is smoked for another several hours and after all stewed in the oven at low temperature. The total time of processing takes up to 28 hours.

"Like at Katz's' is the flagman sandwich with a double portion of pastrami at "Dickman's Deli". The thing is the restaurant was inspired by famous Jewish "Katz's Delicatessen" which is already for 30 years successfully works on Manhattan, New York City.

Also I had a nice tomato clam chowder.
