How to make Solar bottle bulbs project | DIY Liter of Light | Science Project

Solar bottle bulbs, also known as solar water bottles, are placed on the roof of a house to illuminate a room by reflecting sunlight. The innovation of this project is to create high-quality natural light using cheap, durable and readily available materials, providing the urban poor with an affordable, environmentally friendly long-term alternative to electric lighting for daytime use.
A bottle is filled with water and a small amount of bleach. Adding bleach to the water prevents it from turning green by algae and ensures high-quality light that keeps the water clean for a long time. A small part of the bottle is left outside and the rest is allowed to enter the room. The refractive properties of the water ensure that the sunlight reaching the inside of the bottle is omnidirectional, mimicking an electric light bulb and emitting the same amount of light as a 40-60 watt incandescent bulb, depending on the amount of solar energy available.
