Sig P320 vs Glock 19 9mm Pistols by Alien Gear Holsters
There's a lot to like about both guns if comparing the Sig P320 vs Glock 19.
Read about it in more depth at: https://portal.aliengearholsters.com/blog/sig-p320-vs-glock-19/
The Sig Sauer P320 Compact and the Glock 19 are broadly the same in most respects. The specs are about the same. Capacity is the same for both 9mm pistols. The features and function are even about the same.
Both are polymer-framed, striker-fired pistols with about a 6-lb trigger pull and no manual safety. Both have an accessory rail for mounting lasers and lights, and both are very popular for concealed carry as well as duty pistols.
Glock practically owns the law enforcement market - though with plenty of military use as well - and the M18 variant of the P320 platform, which is very similar to the P320 Compact, is the standard duty pistol for several branches of the US military.
What's going to tilt you in one direction or another is likely the smaller details rather than the specs. Both are excellent guns, but the devil is in the details as always and that's what tends to make someone prefer one over the other.
Of course, you'll want to get out and shoot both pistols. If you need some targets for doing so, get some free printable shooting targets here: https://aliengearholsters.com/printable-shooting-targets
The Glock 19 has slightly more aftermarket support, though that gap is closing. Some people find they prefer the Glock grip angle, and the G19 is slightly shorter from top to bottom, but only by a hair.
The Sig P320 Compact has a smoother trigger, and doesn't come with plastic sights as standard, which the Glock does. Both guns can be ordered from the factory with night sights, but the standard Glock you buy in stores has plastic sights. There are front slide serrations and slightly more real estate in the frame's beavertail, which some people find gives them a better shooting grip.
The P320 is part of the modular P320 architecture, so more customization is possible, but how much that matters is really up to the user. Some people will swap frames and slides and calibers, but a lot of people just don't.
Ultimately, it's really going to come down to your preference. Neither gun has any serious advantage over the other.
