Today we are going to learn how to fingerpick on the ukulele like a pro. If you feel stuck in these basic fingerpicking patterns and don't know how to take the next step, but you are looking for intermediate fingerpicking ideas, this is the video for you.

We can create very unique and special pieces by incorporating fingerpicking open strings in our playing. The two open strings we chose are the E and the A, the 2nd and the 5th meaning that we have some color and some stability, plus they are both chord tones for the V chord. Using these drone notes we are able to move playing around on top of the chords to give everything this lovely movement and beautiful airy sound that sounds amazing. This type of fingerpicking can make pieces both unique to the instrument, but also spacey and unforgettable.

The arrangement starts at the top of the fretboard and works its way down the fretboard with a fun 8 bar loop. You can feel free to modify the finger picking pattern, in fact you are encouraged to do so, as well as experiment with strumming the piece as well!
