My sisterloc / microloc hair journey has began...🥰💪🏽🫶🏽👸🏾. It started on February 14th, 2026, on Valentina's love ❤️ day (Valentines Day).... A true show of self love, considering how much was spent on getting sisterlocs /microlocs installed and because I love my natural hair. Please read on until the end:

Sisterlocs and Microlocs are so expensive to install (put in). The cost varies from area to area but in the Washington, DC area 🇺🇸, you are looking to pay anywhere from US$1,000 - 2,000+. Black hair is very expensive to treat, manage and upkeep. It's a big lucrative industry / business, especially here in the USA. And once you get the locs installed, you have to get it maintained every 2-4 months depending on how fast your hair grows and this can cost more than US$150. My hair grows fast and I naturally have long hair, for a non-mixed, full blown African / black girl

Sisterlocs vs Microlocs:

Mine are Microlocs (not Sisterlocs) but they are tiny and almost like Sisterlocs. There's a difference in the technique on how they are installed and WHO can install them. I chose Microlocs over Sisterlocs because of the freedom and flexibility that they provide. You can learn more by doing your own research.

This is a lifelong investment for me. I plan to keep my hair loc'd permanently. I can style it however I want, as if I don't have locs because they are so beautiful and tiny. I can just get up and go, almost like white people do 😝😅🫶🏽... Definitely easier to maintain and keep compared to lose hair, especially for those of us who wear our hair natural without chemicals. I haven't permed or relaxed my hair since 2008. I'm team natural and team simple, and comfortable life ✨️😍.
