TRADITIONAL FRENCH APPLICATION - FIRST TIME EVER ON CAMERA!!

Hey everyone

In this video, I'm going to teach you how to make a traditional French nail using acrylic, we have the fabulous Annette to do this nail on, we want to keep it traditional if you don't know what this means, it means we create the free edge first.

So we have to prepare the nail with dehydrator and primer. for this, you'll need max adhesion for the acrylic. You want to pick a very precise bead and place it on the free edge of the nail and sweep it to each side, with this you want to shape out the free edge how you want it, you can do this by dragging and sweeping it out as well as patting it into place. I think this way is great because you can see your smile line before the end of the nail which gives time to adjust.

So now you've got your smile line done you can do the rest of the nail, you want to pick up a nice big bead and place it straight onto the nail because your smile line is already in place, it creates a sort of well that you can drop it straight into. when you do this you need to bring it a little bit over the top of the free edge so that when you file it down it all comes into line and has a smooth transition.

Now I use my usual filling routine to neaten up the nail. When you file the goal is to bring all of the acrylics down to the same level so that they smoothly transition between each other. When I've done this I finish it off with the urban graffiti top coat as usual.
