Canon 240, 240XL, 240XXL, 241 or 241XL ink cartridges which have been refilled (i.e. at Costco/Sam's Club/Fry's Electronics) and installed into the #Canon Pixma #MG3620 #printer will display "Ink has run out", "Empty" and/or display steady/flashing ink cartridge lights on the printer. To enable printing, you will need to RESET the printer to override the ink counter. Each Canon printer is equipped with a special ink chip that recognizes when the ink has run low. To reset the Canon cartridge low ink alert message(s), perform the following suggested PRINTER RESET procedures:

-- Press and hold the 'Stop/Reset' button for 5-8 seconds...display should either display a one (1) and/or the printer ink cartridge lights/LEDs should NOT be flashing.

-- On select printer models you will need to hold two buttons down (not just the stop button). You need to hold the color button (for color cartridge reset) or black button (for black cartridge reset) button along with the stop button for 5-8 seconds.

NOTE: Following printer reset the ink low indicator may remain illuminated (steady, but not flashing) and you should still be able to print. If the respective indicator light continues to flash or displays an error code and printing is not permitted, then the cartridge may have suffered an internal electrical failure.

If the printer reset is not successful, then we suggest you clean BOTH cartridge's rear electrical contacts using an isopropyl alcohol dampened lint-free towel and ensure no excess ink residue remains on cartridge. Firmly re-seat BOTH ink cartridges and re-test to determine if error condition can be cleared before deciding whether or not the ink cartridge is damaged.
