Passos is the former coach of Gustavo Kuerten, who won three French Open Grand Slam titles, five Tennis Master Series, and one Tennis Master Cup. He also finished the season as World No. 1 in 2000 with Passos as his coach. Passos has also coached Thomaz Bellucci, Tiago Fernandes, Tamira Paszek, Daniela Hantuchova, and Marcos Daniel.
