Playa de las Américas is an elegant and popular year-round holiday destination located on the south-west coast of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). It stretches from the west side of Mount Chayofita to El Bobo Beach. It is adjacent to Los Cristianos and San Eugenio (municipality of Adeje).
It has some nice beaches: Playa del Bobo and Playa de Troya (municipality of Adeje), and Playa del Camison (municipality of Arona) which are friendly because they have protection from large ocean waves.
Among the various tourist attractions Playa de Las Americas offers among others numerous hotels, bars, restaurants, shopping centers, night clubs, promenades, and above all, beautiful beaches with yellow sand, which was imported from Africa.
The resort also owes its popularity to a mild climate that allows the use of the ocean and water sports throughout the year.
Both the part of Playa de Las Americas belonging to the municipality of Adeje, and the part belonging to the municipality of Arona are classified as Costa Adeje for tourists./
