The Rings Of Power FINALLY Explains The Mystics Purpose..

Welcome back to Scene Hunter. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power presents many mysterious characters: Adar, the Stranger, Halbrand, and the three mystics in white. Adar's story was revealed in Episode 6, "Doom," at least in part. The Stranger and Halbrand were the focus of many fan theories leading up to the finale, which provided some answers, though Season 2 will likely explain more. However, the mystics stumped audiences from the beginning. When first revealed in the trailer, some fans speculated that the white hooded figure may be Sauron. This character, now known as the Dweller, was never the most likely option for the Dark Lord, but it has always been clear that she is connected to Sauron. Along with the other reveals saved for the season finale came the explanation for the Dweller and her companions, the Nomad and the Ascetic.
The Rings of Power has started to develop a concerning habit over the course of its first season. In the direst moments of its first massive battle sequence in "Udûn" and in the aftermath of the eruption of Mount Doom that plays out across the "The Eye", the show feinted toward the death of multiple key characters only to reveal that they were fine moments later. This tactic is most often used to cheaply provoke an emotional response from the audience without committing to changing the status quo by killing a character, but in doing so it threatens to undermine the narrative and emotional stakes of the entire story. If The Rings of Power continues this trend of pretending to kill its characters in future seasons, it will seriously impact the audience's emotional investment in the story.
