What are the types of Breast Milk and their colour?
1. Colostrum- colostrum is the first milk that a mother’s body produces after child birth. This milk might
be clear, yellow, or orange in colour.
2. Transition Milk- This milk marks the transition period from the production of colostrum to mature
milk. The colour of the breast milk is white or yellow.
3. Mature Milk- You start producing mature milk when the baby is around three or four weeks. Initially,
the milk looks clear or blue in colour and changes to white or yellow later.

4. Wearning Milk- After your baby starts on solid foods, weaning milk is produced. This milk might
appear like colostrum.

breast. While nursing, you might find the
colours and the consistency of your breast milk change from time to time. When in doubt, consult your doctor
to understand the various shades of breast milk.
