Our Forklift batteries one week later. Did they work?

A week ago we broke up our 48V forklift batteries and created a 12V bank to power the small units outside the main house. We got off to a poor start. The two sulfated batteries were refusing to corporate. They would discharge very quickly. Have we fixed them one week later?
