This tour took a couple of hours so I tried to condense the video to each step required to produce a recap. The audio is bad because of all the machinery and commotion going on at the time and yes those are my fat fingers in the way near the end of the video. This can't be re-created so I had to keep it raw :)

This tire plant supplies our recaps and once you see the detailed methods they use to check them out it gives you lots of confidence in the product. We can get up to 5 recaps on the same casing so that's money saved for our tire budget.

Tires are one of the most important parts on any vehicle and good retreads are essential. The amount of wear over time has a huge impact on the tire budget. There are also possibilities of tire cupping or feathering and various other problems that could pop up. The biggest concern is caps failing and tires blowing while running down the highway especially on a school bus. Thankfully we have had very few of these incidents over the years.
