This is one of the hardest pieces for orchestra and is well known in the classical music world as one of the best orchestrations, Creating Rich and unique colors from the vast range of instruents. The piece has three parts, starting with the 'daybreak' - the soundtrack to the sunrise over a hilly coutryside where the birds slowly start waking up and chirping - Ravel is excellently creating the music that sounds like nature awakening. The piece is incredibly technically difficult for the entire orchestra - often individual players have to play huge amounts of fast notes that aren't directly recogniseable to the audience but add to the colors and soundcarpet Ravel is creating. It's perhaps one of the most impressive pieces written for orchestra - please enjoy :)
