NWSL on ESPN: Washington Spirit vs. Portland Thorns

HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!

This is the 6th and final NWSL on ESPN Game of the Week and we save the best for last!!

The Washington Spirit is heading to Washington D.C., but this time in a brand new venue, Audi Field, a new home of D.C. United. As the Washington Spirit begins a new era after the firing of Jim Gabarra, they have never won a game since May 23 and never scored since July 7, as they face new challenges for the final two games.

For the Portland Thorns, they hoping to host a semifinal game at home if they win today and win in the regular season finale against Seattle on Sept. 7 as the NWSL Playoffs is quickly approaching.

This is the first time since 2010 when the women's pro soccer team played in Metro D.C. (Washington Freedom, WPS)
