The Sunday Show: Ukraine Awaits the First Normandy Meeting in Three Years

For the first time since October 2016, leaders of the Normandy Four will meet in Paris on December 9. Presidents of Ukraine, Russia, and France, as well as Germany's Chancellor, will discuss the possible progress in the peace process regarding the Donbas war. The Kremlin also argues that the Ukrainian president should meet Vladimir Putin face-to-face.

On our Sunday Show, we discuss the prospects and the risks of the talks with Ukrainian diplomat and former deputy foreign minister Andri Veselovsky, National Institute for Strategic Studies expert Olena Snihyr, Andreas Umland, a fellow at Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation, and Vitaliy Deynega, the founder of the charity fund "Come back alive". We also show what Ukrainians expect from the meeting in Paris – both in Kyiv and in Stanytsia Luhanska where a bridge connecting the government-controlled and occupied parts of Ukraine's Luhansk region has been recently rebuilt.
