Hello, wonderful Humans of Earth. Here is another Patcher Demo. This time, it is on making self-generative white noise sweeps using tape plugins. More specifically, I am doing so with Waves J37, Abbey Road Vinyl, and Arturia Mello-Fi, in that order. I have made sweeps with White and Pink Noise Oscillators in Synth Plugins for years now (And even back in the beginning, Sweeps on my Microkorg XL) and while that is a tried and true method for getting a practical downsweep or upsweep, I wanted something new or different. Something with a more gritty, vinyl-like and analog texture to it, with more wear and tear and machinery artifacts to it. This was a nice method to achieve that, I think. This is primarily because of the wear, mechanics, and crackle from these plugins all working together. Then, it is just a matter of modulating or automating parameters like Volume and Lowpass Filter to shape the sweeps.

This requires no MIDI, because it requires no Synth, only Effects Plugins. As such, you will not see a MIDI note in the playlist for this. It's a very simple tutorial, and a little shorter this time. Nothing very complex this time. I think you'll easily be able to recreate something like this on your own. Patcher Preset File and the list of plugins you'll need to get the patch to work are included in this description. I will also list free plugin alternatives if you can't get these plugins. If you really want me to, then let me know if this is intriguing enough to make another version with the free alternatives and I might do so. If you are on a different DAW and not on FL Studio, you can take these same principles and apply it to a chain, utility, or rack that you create. Just use your native (or third party plugin of choice) alternative for EQ and Gain Utility. Enjoy!
