The ONLY Northern Vietnam Travel Itinerary You’ll Ever Need 🇻🇳
The ONLY Northern Vietnam Travel Itinerary You’ll Ever Need 🇻🇳
Northern Vietnam is wild, raw, and unforgettable
If you plan it right.
Sapa. Ha Giang. Ninh Binh. Hanoi. Ha Long Bay.
You’ve heard the names —but the order matters. The timing matters.
Most travelers get this completely wrong… and skip the best locations.
This is the itinerary that gets it right.
I’ve spent four months exploring Northern Vietnam — and yes, I made mistakes.
So in this video, we’re going step-by-step through the perfect route.
How long to stay, where to sleep, what to eat — and the one crucial detail most guides miss.
Stick around, because there’s one spot people skip,
that is one of the best experiences in the entire country

Start in Ninh Binh. Think of it as Ha Long Bay… but on land.
Here’s what not to miss:
- Tam Coc & Trang An River Tours – take both if you can
- Hang Mua Viewpoint at sunrise – yes, it’s worth the stairs
- Bai Dinh Pagoda at sunset – feels like a fantasy movie set
- Hoa Lu Ancient Town – Vietnam’s first capital
Where to stay: Tam Coc
Where to eat:
- Dinner by the river in Hoa Lu
- Roast duck at Family Restaurant
It takes a lot of coffee to make a travel vlog:
You can buy me a coffee https://www.buymeacoffee.com/ParadiseAdvntr
Next — the postcard spot: Ha Long Bay.
Take a luxury overnight cruise — it’s 100% worth it.
You’ll eat like royalty, kayak through caves, and sleep on the water.
Pro Tip: Don’t try to do Ha Long Bay as a day trip. One night, minimum.

After the sea, head to the mountains: Sapa.
It’s moody, misty, and magical — if the weather plays nice.
- Fansipan Summit – take the train + cable car to the ‘Roof of Indochina’
- Trek through rice terraces — and don’t skip Moana Sapa for photos
Where to stay: Anywhere central — Sapa’s walkable

This next part? It’s Vietnam’s wildest ride — the Ha Giang Loop.

- Lung Cu Flag Tower – Vietnam’s northernmost point
- Ma Pi Leng Pass – bucket list views
- Nho Que River Boat Ride – surreal green canyon
