Sellers, why isn't your Home Selling? It's not in your control. #outsidefactors RE/MAX Escarpment
If your home shows well, and you"ve done some updates, it's not you. It's out of your control.
The are external factors that you cannot control. The market is sluggish. Your house is not moving for a reason.
Don't blame the photos or the listing remarks. Being picky on lessor items isn't good for anybody. It's frustration. Open Houses have always brought a very, very low success rate. So doing multiple OH isn't the answer either.
You can't control your location, the intersection, your corner lot, the condo fees, the railroad track, the condo complex, the neighbour's dog, Winter snow storms, below zero temps etc.
Also, buyers financing and bank approval criterias are not in your reach.
Snow is melting, there were more listings last week. Most likely because other Sellers were waiting for a break in the weather. Stay on course.
Bottom line is Price. As a Seller, how far do you want to drop to Sell. Also, Selling Low means Buying Low! It's all relative.
Rules for 2026.
1- Hire a Realtor
2 - Get approved for a mortgage, have good credit & search the interest rate/year options
3 - Have a good deposit with your offer & figure out your down payment when you close your home
4 - Have liquid cash for when you close. Do you qualify for the Land Transfer Tax rebate.
5 - Know what to look for during a Home Inspection. What are your Pet Peeves?
