Two legends of the LSO's trumpet section, now both sadly no longer with us. Former Principal Trumpet Maurice Murphy died in 2010 and Nigel Gomm in 2011, and they are hugely missed by everyone who worked with them.

We hope you enjoy this little insight into Maurice and Nigel's trumpet playing and relationship with each other, which stretched back beyond their days together in the Orchestra.

This video was recorded for the purposes of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2008, a project which brought together amateur musicians around the world. Nigel and Maurice are looking at sections of the trumpet part for Tun Dun's 'Internet Symphony' which players recorded themselves performing as an audition, before the winners were brought together to form an orchestra in New York.
