The Dallas Mavericks are expected to chase Rudy Gobert during 2021 NBA free agency, but Bleacher Report has cooked up another trade idea to send the two-time DPOY to the Mavs in a trade during the 2020 NBA offseason. The Dallas Mavericks have seen a lot of success with running Kristaps Porzingis at the five in the back half of the 2019-20 NBA season, so do the Mavs really need to trade for Rudy Gobert?

In this hypothetical trade, the Dallas Mavericks would trade Maxi Kleber, Seth Curry, Boban Marjanovic, Justin Jackson and their 2020 first round pick for Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz. Maxi Kleber and Seth Curry have already proven themselves to be bargains during the 2020 season with the contracts they signed this summer. Boban Marjanovic has quickly become one of Luka Doncic’s best friends, which already makes him a valuable asset. That first round pick may not turn into a Rudy Gobert, but it still isn’t just a piece the Mavs would be willing to throw away.
