After stripping the old paint, pulling out dents, sculpting filler over problem spots and repairing rusted areas, the van got sprayed with a primer coat which will seal off the metal from any moisture or oxygen.

This coat has an orange peel texture which leads to the next, most time consuming part of the project

The van gets block sanded by hand 4 times over all surfaces using an alternating, diagonal sweeping method, increasing the grit each time until finally a smooth finish is achieved :face_exhaling:
