The inner Spiti stretch toward Kaza is where snow, slippery patches, landslides, and sudden roadblocks turn a beautiful ride into a serious challenge. BRO has had to clear snow on the Sumdo–Kaza side, tourists have been warned not to push on slippery stretches, and the Kinnaur-Kaza corridor has repeatedly been blocked at places like Malling Nullah.
