STEPCRAFT TRAINING - Speaker Adapter - Convert Scanned Drawing into Vector for CNC - Part 1

This is a 3-part video series that will show you how to, using a STEPCRAFT CNC System, to make a custom speaker adapter to put aftermarket speakers into the stock location in a car door. In this case we will be putting a high-end JL Audio 4" Mid-range speaker in a stock 5 1/4" door opening.

We are using Vectric Cut 2D and a STEPCRAFT CNC.

The adapter is made from .125" (1/8") Acrylic and is cut with a 1/8" 2-Flute End Mill.

We show you how to use a office scanner to bring the shape of the speaker into the software and then how to convert that bitmap scan image into a vector that you can assign tool paths too.

PART 1 - Tracing the speaker outlines onto a piece of paper, marking hole locations and finding the speakers center point

PART 2 - Scanning the outline from the paper into the computer at 300 dpi. Using Cut 2D's drawing tools to create a vector outline of each speaker. Then Merging the two outlines and creating the hole for the smaller speaker. Finally, we show you how to create the tool path to cut it out

PART 3 - Cutting the speaker adapter out on a STEPCRAFT CNC
