How to Make a Rainbow Monkey Plushie out of Fuzzy Socks | Codename: Kids Next Door | KND
Even though we don't have G:KND, at least we can all have unofficial Rainbow Monkey plushies.
Codename: Kids Next Door was one of Cartoon Network's most popular shows, running from 2002-2008. It centered around an organization of kids who fought adult tyranny through eradicating broccoli supplies, disrupting teen events, and fighting villains. Rainbow Monkeys were a toy inside the KND universe and a focal point of many episodes.
Although the idea of official Rainbow Monkey plushies was floated around, they unfortunately never came to be. So, today I'll be showing you how to make your own! This fuzzy sock plushie is on the complex side, so previous experience in sewing and working with fuzzy socks will definitely be helpful.
MATERIALS:
-Two fuzzy socks in a color of your choice
-A small amount of sock fabric coordinating with the main color
-Something to mark the fabric with, similar in color to your sock
-Needle and thread
-Fabric scissors
-Toy stuffing
-DK/Worsted weight yarn in a coordinating color for facial features
-Second yarn color for nose (optional)
-Yarn Needle
-Pins
-Small amounts of red, yellow, and blue needle felting wool
-Small amount of a dark colored needle felting wool (I used dark green)
-Patience
SUBSTITUTIONS:
-To save on toy stuffing, you can add finely cut scraps of yarn, fuzzy socks, and fabric to the centers of your plushies and surround them with toy stuffing.
-If you don't know how to needle felt, you can make the rainbow charm from clay, making several holes in the base of the stem to sew it on with.
-If you're having trouble with embroidering on the facial features, you can cut shapes from felt and try sewing those on.

Thanks so much for watching! Sometime in the future I'll be making plushies of the main five KND characters, so feel free to subscribe if you'd like to see that. See you next time!
