Opera Papoea. Het plan (the plan)

Stichting Music Stages (Music Stages Foundation) has premiered a new work by Dutch composer Maarten Ornstein based on a libretto by Merel Hubatka. Opera Papoea describes the adventures of a young Dutch civil servant in the jungle of West-Papua. The young man is torn between the exploration of his own sexuality and his fascination for the lives and rites of the people living in the jungle. The opera is written mostly in Dutch.
