Michael Burry in a series of now deleted tweets released at the end of February 2021, joins in on the Bitcoin conversation giving his Bitcoin prediction and opinion that it is in a bubble and the fall will be painful.

Over the last 2 weeks legendary investor Michael Burry has put out a slew of tweets that he went on to immediately delete which detailed how he believes Bitcoin is in a massive bubble and that the inevitable downfall is going to be spectacular.

Luckily, some fast investors were able to save screenshots of each of the tweets so in this video we will be taking a look at Michael Burrys argument against Bitcoin. He also shared his opinions on Dogecoin, NFT’s Tesla and cryptocurrency in general so we have a lot to deconstruct in this video.

Michael Burry rose to prominence and is best known for being the FIRST investor to foresee and take a huge short position from the subprime mortgage crisis we saw unfold in 2008.

Michael Burry was so confident in the bet against the housing market that he took a position of 8.4 Billion dollars in Credit Default Swaps, essentially shorting the housing market. The huge bet eventually paid off and Michael Burry netted a cool 800 Million dollar profit off his position.

Now Michael Burry again was in the news for the opposite reasons recently as in 2020 Burry began taking a large position in the company Gamestop. Burry recognised that there was huge short interest in Gamestop shares, more than there were shares available with short interest peaking at 140% in fact and began buying up Shares as he liked the fundamentals of the company.

As I am you all know, Reddit Wallstreet Bets a few months later at the end of 2020 also caught wind of the massive short interest in Gamestop and what unfolded was a mother of all short squeezes.

Of note is that Burry also disclosed that he currently holds a SHORT position against Tesla and Elon Musk… very interesting as many have bet against Musk before and been burnt… I wonder how shorting Tesla turned out for Bill Gates in 2020…
