2D in 3D - Character Rig - Maya
Here is a rig for a 2D style character in 3D. It was created in Maya for a short film called “Everything Must Go”. The model has line work built into the geo itself, and a series of swappable rigs for different hand and mouth shapes.
At the end of the video I have an animation test for an earlier version of the character, this was to make sure this rigging method would work and see how we could incorporate 3D props with the 2D looking characters.
Please leave any question or suggestions and stay tooned for more videos.
