UCLA Chemistry and Biochemistry 2019 Commencement Address

On Saturday, June 15, 2019, the UCLA Chemistry and Biochemistry 2019 Alumni Award was presented to commencement speaker Dr. Michael Varney ('80), Dr. Varney is the Executive Vice President and Head of Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) and a member of the Roche Corporate Executive Committee. Department Chair Professor Catherine F. Clarke made the welcoming remarks and introductions followed by remarks by Dean of Physical Sciences Professor Miguel Garcia-Garibay. After receiving the award from Dean Garcia-Garibay, Dr. Varney gave his inspiring commencement speech.
