LOCAL SWITCHING OPERATIONS! CSX C711 on the Industry Spur at Blauvelt, NY!

8/16/19:

This is a move I've wanted to shoot for awhile... Here on the River Line, we have a lot of through traffic but one thing we lack is locals... We only get one a day and it only comes as far south as CP-22 one day a week, Friday. Being that this is a weekday, I can't usually get out to see him because of school. Summer is the only time I can shoot him, so I made sure to make time and go see him this year!

Finally seeing this move was very cool... the switching, the location, the track condition, and the solo ex-CR Geep in charge made for an awesome scene! The coolest thing about the spur track is the steep grade the train has to climb to access the mainline! Also, in addition to the C711, we saw three other trains, one being Q434 with an ex-PRR SD40-2 leading! Overall, an epic day!
