Lumber Epidural Steroid Injection

An Epidural Steroid Injection (ESI) is a safe and minimally-invasive procedure used to relieve leg, back, arm, and neck pain caused by inflamed spinal nerves, and degenerative or herniated discs. Nerves become inflamed when the passages narrow where the nerves travel from the spine. Steroid injections consist of cortisone steroid medication and a numbing agent. These drugs relieve swelling and inflammation and can take pressure off nerves and other soft tissue, with the goal to relieve pain.
