Nick Lander @ 5x15 - On the Menu
Nick Lander is a restaurateur and writer. He first fell into the restaurant business when he bought L'Escargot in Soho in 1980, which went on to become one of London's most renowned restaurants. In 1988 he became restaurant correspondent for the Financial Times - a role he fulfils to this day - where he initiated the first British restaurant promotion, 'Lunch for a Fiver'. Nick also acts as a hospitality consultant to arts organisations across London and was responsible for the installation and selection of the operator for the Champagne Bar and St Pancras Grand as well as for many of the other café and bar operators. He is the author of The Art of the Restaurateur, which became an Economist Book of the Year.
