Mitsis Laguna Resort & SPA Crete, Greece

Join me on a walking tour of the Mitsis Laguna Resort & SPA 5* ultra-all inclusive resort in Anissaras on the Greek island of Crete.

Room:
Clean and beautiful room (double room in the main building with balcony and sea view) with plenty of space, daily refill of ammenities and complementary minibar (water, different lemonades, wine, pepsi, etc.) with a daily refill, bath tube and shower and, in our case, balcony with unblocked sea view. Our room was also equipped with a safe which may have been a little larger. Unfortunately, a 13" notebook does not fit into it.

Food:
The hotel offers a buffet restaurant in the main building (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and various à-la-carte restaurants (Cretan tavern, Mexican, asian, etc.) which require a reserveration.
The overall food quality in the buffet restaurant was very good throughout our stay, however, maybe a little monotonous if you stay there for a week or more. A good alternative may be seen in the various à-la-carte restaurants.
Additionally, there are also two pools bars which offer snacks during the day (e.g., Crèpes, hot dogs, sandwiches, ...). The Crèpes were absolutely fantastic whereas the hot dogs may require an upgrade.

Cocktails:
The all-inclusive resort offers various locations for having a cocktail throughout the day, e.g., in one of the pool bars, a night bar and/or a sushi bar (yes, the latter also offers complementary sushi in the evening). The offered cocktails are fantastic! The overall Cocktail menu may look a little short at first glance but the barkeepers are absolutely willing and capable for fulfilling any additional cocktail wishes which are not part of the menu!
Cocktails are even served at the beach!

Beach:
Very nice beach, equipped with quite a lot of sunloungers and parasols. Unfortunately, the beach is not a sand beach but is full of little stones. However, it's not a problem to walk on the stones barefoot. Shoes for taking a bath in the sea are absolutely recommended. The beach part which is in the water is full of large (and even sharp stones) which makes swimming in the sea (without shoes) almost impossible.

Pools:
Due to the stony beach, a fair amount of people seems to prefer to go swimming in one of the two pools (a main pool close to the main building and a second (larger) pool which meanders in between different bungalows. The pools a pretty nice and warm and equipped with sufficient sunloungers.

Staff:
The staff throughout our stay was very friendly and polite! Some of the staff members working at one of the bars sometimes seemed to be a little stressed as they may be a little understaffed there.

WiFi:
The hotel and even the beach is equipped with WiFi antennas quite everywhere such that internet access is guaranteed. However, the basic (and complementary) WiFi is quite slow such that uploading videos is not too much fun. There is an option to buy faster WiFi from which we abstained during our stay.
