Wang Jinrei (王驚雷 Wáng Jīngléi; Japanese: ワン・ジンレイ Wan Jinrei; It may be written with given name first as Jinrei Wang) is a character in the Tekken series of fighting games, first introduced in the original Tekken game. He returned in Tekken 2, Tekken 5, and Tekken 6, and also for the spin-off games, Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Jinrei, an old man with whom bravery still runs strong, is a practitioner of Shinirokugo-ken. He was also best friend to Kazuya's grandfather, Jinpachi Mishima.

Wrapped up in the wishes of Jinpachi; "In order to bring about peace the Mishima clan must be destroyed", Jinrei decided to join the tournament, but he seeks to transfer the burden of taking Kazuya out to someone else capable of doing so. But, if there is no other, he's prepared to do what must me done (He will not leave until the deed is done).

Version 2
Wang is an old friend of Jinpachi Mishima, the father of Heihachi Mishima and the grandfather of Kazuya Mishima. Wang had seen the way Kazuya and Heihachi abused and corrupted the Mishima Zaibatsu. Wang later becomes Lee Chaolan's instructor and convinces him to help him bring honor back to the Empire.[citation needed]

Wang walks up a hill while the sun is setting. He approaches a grave stone of Jinpachi Mishima. Wang pours a bottled drink on the top of the grave stone. Then, Wang pours some of the drink into a small cup. He drinks from the cup, and then he exhales. A close-up of Wang's face is shown as the ending movie ends.

Tekken 2 (鉄拳2) is a 1995 fighting game developed and published by Namco. The second entry in the Tekken series, it was released for arcades in August 1995, and was ported to the PlayStation in 1996. The home console version introduced new, now-staple game modes to the series, as well as full-motion video endings for every character. It was re-released as a playable game within Tekken 5 on PlayStation 2 (PS2) in 2005, digitally on PlayStation Network for PS3 and PSP in 2007, and on PlayStation Plus for PS4 and PS5 in 2023.

There are 25 playable fighters in the game, which includes 17 returning veterans from the original Tekken and eight newcomers, including Jun Kazama and Lei Wulong. The former boss, Heihachi Mishima, is now playable from the start as he seeks revenge in the plot, with Kazuya becoming the new antagonist. Tekken 2 was a critical as well as commercial success, with about 40,000 arcade units and 5.7 million PlayStation copies sold worldwide, and becoming one of the best-selling PlayStation games. Critics praised its graphical visuals and light sourcing, as well as its deep system of moves and combos, and the soundtrack. Tekken 2 was followed by a sequel, Tekken 3 (1997).
