Final Fantasy XV — Music to Sleep to [Somnus Instrumental]
Song: "Somnus" (Instrumental) Extended to 90 Minutes,
slowed down
By: Yoko Shimomura (http://tinyurl.com/hkus4m4)
From Final Fantasy XV OST (September 30, 2016)
The vocal rendition of Somnus can be found on:
"Drammatica: The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura"
© 2008 Square Enix
I've always loved this song since it was first released in 2008 (After we had been using Trailer rips for two years between the E3 Announcement and the 2008 album release)
Now, we have the release of more music from Final Fantasy XV, among them the highlight anticipated song, which captures the mood of FFXV
I decided to lower the pitch , naturally, by slowing the tempo to 90%, for the purpose of sleeping. I wouldn't exactly call this a kids' lullaby, but Somnus actually helps me sleep when my thoughts are uncharacteristically negative or gloomy; especially from isolation. Or the ambience of the world around me (such as a windy night or dark and chilly with full moon).
Wiki Excerpt:
Yoko Shimomura (下村 陽子) is a Japanese video game composer and pianist. Shimomura has worked in the video game industry ever since graduating from the Osaka College of Music in 1988. From then until 1993, she worked for Capcom, where she composed wholly or in part the scores for 16 games, including Final Fight and Street Fighter II: The World Warrior.
