Pharmacy Law Update 2014 - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

At the end of this activity, participants should be able to recognize changes made by the Michigan Board of Pharmacy administrative rules that went into effect in December 2013; describe the impact that the new laws may have on pharmacy practice, including pilot projects, auto-injectable epinephrine, disclosure, two strikes, no restriction on time for allegations, and overrides by the Department; identify requirements for the pharmacist in charge; describe the potential impact on pharmacy compounding with the passage of the Drug Quality and Security Act and the Michigan compounding legislation; describe pharmacy functions that require licensure as a pharmacy technician; and identify what is required to participate as a medication disposal site.
