Early Slishman Traction Splint shoulder reductions #shorts
In 2000/2001 I used the early ski/hiking pole traction splint to reduce many dislocated shoulders. Other docs used my prototypes with success as well. A few years ago a concrete worker dislocated his shoulder while working next door and we got his shoulder back in using one of my old prototypes again.
Unfortunately, making a smaller traction splint aimed at femoral traction meant this application fell by the wayside. But I'm hoping to revisit the idea someday.
