Presence of FASCICULATIONS (muscle twitching) DOES NOT always mean MOTOR NEURON DISEASE

Muscle twitching is common. They are technically referred to as fasciculations. Fasciculations are a prominent feature of motor neuron disease (MND), which is also known as AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS (ALS).
Many people google about fasciculations and get scared about ALS.

The most common cause of muscle twitching or fasciculations is benign fasciculations syndrome (BFS). BFS is not serious and does not lead to muscle weakness or wasting.
