World's Most Realistic Animatronic Head

Meet Gary Townley’s head, the most realistic Animatronic robotic head. Gary's head is based off an actor playing a alien robot in the movie The Wold's End.

In one of the scenes with Gary & Simon, they are both in the toilet relieving themselves and Simon is trying to start up a conversation with Gary, but Gary stays silent the whole time, which angers Simon, which results in a bar fight, albeit in the toilet.

They trade a few blows, then Simon picks up Gary and slams him down on the urinal and knocks of his head and comes face to face with his first alien robot.

The head features realistic eye and jaw movement with detailed skin, the combination of the machinery with some fantastic make-up effects, adds up to a head that looks truly realistic, which continues to move after being knocked off it’s body

The head was only required to perform a limited set of movements for the scene, once it was detached from the body, which is mostly eyes, eyebrows & jaw movements.

A lot of time, money & effort was put into this Animatronic head, and it was only used for one scene in a movie.

Can you imagine the kinds of human looking robots we would have in the world today, if the robotics industry and Hollywood teamed up. Makes you wonder.
