A former prosecutor explains how to fight a criminal case where the police purport to have relied on information supplied by informants.

Everyday police in California and across the nation use informants to gather information, obtain search warrants, and build criminal cases against suspects. These are often called narcs or snitches. Police use the term "confidential reliable informant" or CRI.

However, quite often these informants are not reliable at all. Many of them are career criminals, junkies, drug addicts, con men, and people "working off" their cases by cooperating with the police. They tend to provide false and misleading information. Moreover, police themselves often lie about the information gathered from informants.

In this video, former Los Angeles deputy district attorney -- now a California criminal defense lawyer -- explains how to use the law to fight a case involving police informants.
